Well, it's finally here. I leave tomorrow to go to Amsterdam in the Netherlands to study for four months!
I think I've talked about it so much and for so long that I almost forgot that it's a reality. I think I've told so any people I'm excited that I forgot about the unexciting parts that come right before. I forgot I still have to figure out a way to pack my life for four months in a measly suitcase. I forgot how hard it is to say goodbye.
But I actually am really excited - there's so much unknown, so much to explore, so much adventure that awaits me. And while I know there will be rough patches, I truly believe God is ever-present and that he is sovereign and all-sufficient.
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. ISAIAH 12:2
And it's going to be great.
So thanks for taking the time to read my blog! I hope you'll find it interesting and worthwhile to continue to follow along as I embark on my travels. And would you also pray for me? Specifically in these next days as the stress of packing and leaving couple with the fear of all that is to come and as I travel many-a-mile. But also even just as I'm there that I will learn to rely on the Lord fully, that I would be mindful of the gospel and the need of it, and that I learn more and more about God through all that happens in my travels and in getting to know people.
Trust in the Lord with all your strength - lean not on your own understanding - in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight. Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey. You do your part and He'll do the rest. Love you and so proud of you. Remember you are the Kings kid and He has good things in store for you!
ReplyDeleteExcellent- very excited to follow your blog!
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to post pics if you can too :)
And let me know if you have any interest in visiting Spain...
Carolyn! Where did you live in Spain? I'm planning on going to Barcelona for a couple days at the end of the month with a couple friends!
DeleteWe will pray for your safety and awesome success. You go with The Lord of Europe because you are His! (Oh, and it says "Principal", but I am not one.)
